Yay! We finally got our new wine rack this week. Now we just have to buy a bunch of liquor to fill it up!

The Thunder Rolls

Sassy learned about thunder last night. I shouldn't say really learned, it is still a complete mystery to her and she barks and barks and barks and gets all upset. I hope she figures it out pretty soon because it rains a lot here. Funny thing is, she in now content and quietly sleeping, and I'm the one that's awake! Boo!

Life of the typical surburban couple

Yes today we spent our Sunday just like all typical surburban couples do. We went to Home Depot and then spent the day in the yard. I am so excited with all of the progress we made! We got the lawn weeded and re-seeded, the edges trimmed, the front re-mulched, flower pots planted, deck cleaned, and the garage cleaned and organized! Now, it is 8:30 and we are in bed!

Relaxing on the deck after our hard working day.

Look at the pretty flowers! (Hopefully I can say that in about 3 weeks).

Sale at the Banana!!!

Spring Sale is here! Click on the banana link to see what the good deals are. That's what I love about the retail cycle- it is so ahead of its time, that spring clothes are on sale before spring is really even here! The bad thing is, when it is 90 degrees outside in July, we will have sweaters and coats..... My advice- don't wait to shop or else you won't be able to find anything good when you actually need it. Buy now when it is in the store and on sale!

Grooming take 2

Sassy went in for another grooming today. She went to a different place this time and we both liked it a lot better! They seemed like they really cared about her and what would be best for her- plus they were way cheaper! $15 vs. $60- yeah, easy choice. She still isn't used to it enough to actually get her whole body trimmed, but she is doing much better on having her face and feet done. This time she actually left her bow in for awhile too!

Blogger down

Sorry that I haven't posted much this week, it's not my fault I swear! The blogger site was down, so I couldn't post. I will work this week to get you all filled in!

Time for the flowers

Traffic was all backed up and awful on the way to work the other day and I had to sit at the exit for like 20 minutes. That was ok though, becausel it gave me time to look at the pretty flowering trees on the side of the highway. Sometimes you can see the good in the situation if you only look for it. Right?

Batman Building

Sarah, this one's for you!

Like Denver has the "cash register" building, Nashville has the "Batman building" to make this city's skyline unique.

NashVegas

The locals here call this town "NashVegas". I took some pictures downtown tonight, and I guess you can see why...

Day with little Ali

Kayla had reserve duty today so I watched little baby Alyssa for her. I must tell you that I was scared to death since I have never really watched a baby before. The day is only half way over, but at least at this point we are both still alive. No really, she has cried some, but overall she has been pretty easy. It is frustrating because you want to help them when they are upset, but you just don't know what they want! I'm sure all of you out there with kids knows how that goes! Yes, she is cute, but I will be glad to give her back. No kids for us- Sassy is enough!

Speaking of Sassy, our little girl is quite jealous today. She wants to play with the baby, but doesn't understand why I won't let her. When Ali starts crying, she does too!

Home and Garden Show

Patrick, Sassy, and I spent yesterday at the Nashville home and garden show. We are trying to get some ideas of what to do with our lawn for the spring. I really liked looking at the flowers and trees, but Patrick's favorite thing was this riding lawnmower. The one he wanted was $14,000! Hmm, car, or lawnmower.....Heck, that thing was big enough you could probably drive it like a car! I don't think we will be purchasing it though.

Speaking of the house, I have had requests for more pictures of ours, so here you go:

YEAH RIGHT! After the garden show, Patrick and I drove around to get some ideas from some other houses in the area. We saw these houses in the distance and I told Patrick that I thought they were apartments because they looked so big. We went over there anyway, and to our surprise they were actually houses! I couldn't believe how big they were, so I took a picture. So, NO this isn't really our house- ours is just a tiny bit smaller.... hahaha : )

tax woes

Patrick and I went to get our taxes done today. Since Patrick was deployed, we bought a house, moved, re-invested money- all that stuff- we figured it might be better if we had them done rather than try to muttle through all that ourselves. The Army has a program where you can go and get your taxes done for free on base. Sounded good to us, so we collected all our receipts, W-2s, and old tax returns and waited in line with the others. Unfortunately, the taxes are done by vounteers (god love them) and the lady we got knew less about taxes than we did. We ended up more confused than when we left! It was a good attempt, but I think H&R Block will be getting our business next week!
