Lovely Saturday

Sarah and Sadie came down for a quick visit this weekend. We had a great time doing our typical girl stuff: shopping and getting our nails done. Sadie had a great time playing with Sassy and Patrick too. She would chase Sassy around, then Sassy would chase her around. I'm not sure who was more scared of who! Patrick and Sadie played hide and seek, then they went outside to look for bugs (Sadie's idea) and then played the video game "Guitar Hero" (Patrick's idea) . They had so much fun they both fell asleep! We had a great time.

Don't worry- there's a cure

After getting lots of responses from my poor, shoe deprived friends and relatives- I figured I should do this public service.

A cure for what ails you:

More materialistic than most

I heard an interesting thing on the radio today as I was driving to work. They said that the average American woman owns 10 pairs of shoes. 10 pairs???!!! Are you serious? "I probably wear more than 10 pairs of shoes in about 3 days" I was thinking as I listened to the statistic. When I came home I took a look at the kitchen floor. We have had a busy week, and I haven't had a chance to pick up much. I guess I must be more materialistic that most, because this has only been accumulating since Friday. Now to my defense, some of them are Patrick's, but seriously, if you have less than 10 pairs of shoes in your closet, please write me- I want to know who you are, and how you possibly survive like that! haha

A Peep for the Pup

Grandma and Grandpa gave Sassy a Peep for Easter. It is the stuffed version of those horrible marshmallow candies that everyone thinks they need in order to celebrate Easter properly. I hate the things and Grandma and Grandpa are always teasing me about it, so they thought it would be funny to send Sassy a little Peep of her own. Tonight when I was making dinner, I heard this loud growling and barking from the living room. I came out to find Sassy attacking and playing with her Peep. Apparently, she likes them more than I do!

Easter with the Baird's

Patrick and I had a great Easter. We didn't have anything planned for a long time, but then we ended up hosting Easter dinner for other people that didn't have anything planned either! Our friends Gary, Kayla and baby Ali from the army came, as well as some of my friends from Banana. We ate good southern food and had a great time. We hope you did too!

Oh Dear Starbucks, how I've missed your frothy ways. I am glad to see your green smiling face again.

This is the pretty cake I made!

Easter Sassy

Sassy had a very fun easter. She got some new outfits from the Easter bunny and had a very nice time playing with her chicken and posing for pictures in her Easter dress.

Think it's hard getting small children to pose for pictures? Try photographing a tiny dog in a dress and a hat if you really want a challenge.

Welcome to the Rakkasans

Patrick was finally able to join a new unit this week. We are now proud members of the Rakkasans- a very prestigious group at Ft. Campbell. Their motto is "Let valor not fail" - we'll see how it goes...

Lacross anyone?

One of the high school girls that works at the store is on the JV Lacross team at her school. She is always telling me about her games and how tough she is getting from playing. Patrick and I went out to watch a game and support the team this afternoon. We don't know anything about Lacross, but we had a good time anyway! Sassy liked it too! She would really watch what they were doing on the field- pretty cute.
