Sass in the grass

Patrick was mowing the lawn tonight and Sassy really wanted to help. She loves playing in the tall grass and hoping around in there like a bunny. She's so little, that you can hardly see her playing around in there! I tried to take a video, because it was pretty cute, but unfortunately it was too dark outside. Here's a couple of cute pictures though of our little Sassy Bunny.

Not so little anymore

We had friends over on Saturday night for a BBQ and Gary and Kayla brought little Ali with them. You may remember Ali from some previous posts- one which I baby sat her for a day and little Sassy just couldn't get enough of her. Well, now that Ali is crawling, Sassy isn't quite so sure she likes her anymore. Ali sure is a cute, sweet baby and it was crazy to see her crawling around already! Man does time fly- pretty soon I'll be like the old people that everyone used to hate when they were young saying things like "I remember when you were THIS BIG" and "I used to change your diapers!"

A bird in the mailbox...

A bird in the mailbox is worth two in the hand- no, wait- A bird in the bush is worth two in the mailbox- no, that's not right, a mailbox in the bush is as good as two birds in the hand....Wait- what??!!

Sassy's new friends

We took Sassy to the dog park last night. We have taken her before and ususally she is too afraid of the other dogs to play and she spends most of the time begging to be picked up. This time, she found a couple dogs that didn't scare her (too much) and she played a little. Pretty cute!

Turduckin Lives!

I first discovered the elisive Turduckin in Florida. An interesting breed, this rare form of fowl is the result of the interbreeding between turkeys, ducks, and chickens. While walking in the park last night, we spotted Turduckin here in Nashville! He is migrating north and I'm sure it won't be long until he makes it to Colorado. Beware- he's mean.

Dave came to visit us this week. We had a wonderful time and did lots of fun things. We went to some honky tonks and to Jack Daniels distillery, spent some time on the base and went to Opry Land. It was so wonderful to spend time with him! Thanks for visiting us David!

Happy Independence Day!

On this- our country's Independence Day, please remember what this day is about....

It's not about the fireworks.....

Or about dressing up your puppy for the holiday......

Or even about spending time with family and friends......

This day is about our country- She's not always perfect, but she's ours still the same. Please take a minute to appreciate how beautiful and free she is, and say a prayer for all the people that keep her that way. Thank you.

More from El Paso

Here's some pictures of Sassy. I know that's really all you guys want to see right?!

Our trip to El Paso

Patrick, Sassy, and I went to El Paso for the weekend to visit Patrick's mother Patsy and his step father Bert. We had an awesome time laying by the pool, enjoying the sunshine and visiting family. Patrick's parents had a party for us on Saturday since many of their family members weren't able to attend our reception in September. It was a very nice celebration complete with Mariachis and Margaritas. We had a lovely time and were glad to be able to spend time with everyone.
