Brain Teaser Tuesday

Alexander is a great circus performer, skilled in many things. He weighs exactly 199 pounds and is about to cross a bridge with a strict weight limit of 200 pounds. The problem is he is carrying three pieces of gold, each weighting 8 ounces. The gold puts him 8 ounces over the strict weight limit. What did Alexander do to cross the bridge safely with all three pieces of gold?

Answer to be posted on Friday.

The finest spring fashions...

I finished up another fashion show this week- this one was for the same ladies social group that I worked with in the fall. Since this was the second time around with this group, I made a few changes and the show was a lot better I think. To the horror of my sister, I forgot my camera (as I always seem to do) so I did the next best thing and dressed up these ladies to create the most adequate depiction as I could. Enjoy!

After the rain

It rained pretty hard the other night and this morning there were lots of little snails on the sidewalk. I don't remember ever seeing snails in CO, so it was interesting to watch them s..l..o...w...l...y crawl across the cement. We're planning on opening a French restaurant in our garage very soon.

Two hours later.....

still playing....ZUMA....playing.....still playing......still.......
Well I have made it past level 3-5, but now I can't feel my hand.....

ZUMA!

I'm not really a video game person- that's Patrick's domain. The only games I really do find entertaining are the ones most everyone else thinks are totally lame, like Tetris, PacMan, Bejeweled, etc. This week Patrick downloaded me a new game to play called ZUMA. I am totally into it and have not done much else since. Really, this is the reason why I don't play video games-because I get so addicted and I stop sleeping and just stay up and play. I wake up all tired from only a few hours sleep, then all I can think about while I am at work is getting home and trying to pass stupid level 3-5.  If I don't post for a few days you'll know why. I'm playing ZUMA.... still playing..... still..... playing.......ZUMA.....still playing.......playing........

Cows Come Home

While Patrick and I were out walking tonight, we saw a funny sight in our neighbors yard- a cow! I guess he wanted to come home too.

Employee of the Month

Patrick has only had his job as a valet for about a month, be he was the Employee of the Month for that month. To think he was afraid civilian life would be hard......
I'm so proud!

Sassy's Day Out

Patrick and I took Sassy out to play yesterday by the river. There is a large recreation area by the damn near our house that is usually pretty busy in the summer, but yesterday we had it all to ourselves. Sassy had a great time chasing the squirrels, birds, and geese, and here she is trying to catch a bee. She probably wouldn't have been happy had she actually caught him.

Nashville ranked "manliest" city in the US

Patrick's pleased. We apparently live in the "manliest" city in the US according to a study that came out this week. Cities got "Man Points" for having pro-sport teams, BBQ joints, and hardware stores, and lost points for having too many home furnishing stores, subscriptions to beauty magazines, and for having residents like this guy.

Click on the link to read the whole article and to see how your city stacked up. Just an FYI- Denver was #5, Grand Rapids #24, Seattle #40, and LA and NYC were last with #49 and #50.  You NYC guys can keep your deep spray-on tans and creamy lotion-y hands, thank you!

I'm back baby!

So after some requests and a few demands, I've returned to my blog. (I know you all really have just been dying to know what Sassy has been wearing lately!) Before I being discussing the current state of the Baird's let me take a moment to catch you up...
Since Patrick got home in November, life has been fun a blissful- yes, really! We have had such a nice time actually hanging out together that I can't believe how quickly the past 4 months have flown by. We went to Colorado for Christmas and Disney World for New Year's and had a wonderful time both trips. We went to a Titan's game, some concerts, a few day trips, and have generally been busy about town. The only complaint is that the weather has been really crappy here this winter, so we are both really ready for spring.
Patrick officially finished with the Army on March 4th and got a job working at the DoubleTree in downtown Nashville as a valet. He says it's pretty fun and it works for now. He has a few other job options for the summer so he'll find something interesting to do before he starts college in the fall. As for me, I have kept myself very busy with Belk and my business. I now work about 4 or 5 days at the store and do all their shows and speaking engagements. I fit in SavvyStyle clients on my days off, so I literally shop all day pretty much everyday with other people's money. Really? People pay me for this? Yes, I still don't get how I lucked into this line of work, but I'm not complaining!
Princess Sassy is doing very well. She has learned how to 'stay' in addition to 'sit', 'lay down' and 'roll over'. I'm currently working on trying to teach her how to fold laundry, but so far she has not added that to her bag of tricks. She is so happy that her daddy is home, so she spends most of her time following Patrick around. He spoils her more than I do (yes, its true) so it isn't any wonder.

You're caught up now so blogging can commence! I noticed that Blogger added some fancy little bells and whistles since I was away, which is exciting. Who doesn't love a good poll? Neat.
Thanks for not giving up on me- glad to be back.
