Your never too old to have fun with fireworks! Unlike in Colorado, fireworks are still legal in Tennessee. Not only are they legal, they are highly encouraged! They sell anything from sparklers, to roman candles, to artillery shells, to blow your hand off bottle rockets. The only law is that you have to be at least 12 years old to purchase. Yes, I'm serious.
Cute lil' fire truck!
Ready to go!
Oohh! Pretty!
Patrick and I had a good time tonight blowing things up in the driveway. In this last picture, the little shiny thing in the upper left of the picture is actuallly a coke can in flight from having a bottle rocket blown up inside it. Now that's wicked cool!

A beautiful life lost
I found out that while I was gone, one of the associates that works for us at Banana Republic was killed by a drunk driver on Saturday night. It is so hard to believe that one day she was joking with me about shopping the clearance racks at Target, and the next day she is gone forever. It just shows you how precious life is and how quickly things can change. I provided some links to the story if you would like to read more. She was a wonderful person with a beautiful soul- I'm sure she is fitting in around Heaven very nicely.

My little stow-away!
I'm back!
Sorry it's been so long since I posted. I brought my computer to Vegas with me, but the room didn't have wireless, so I couldn't get on. My conference went really well. The resort we were at (JW Marriott) was beautiful and the food we had was awesome! I'm sure I gained 5 pounds while I was there. The tables weren't so nice to me though- I lost a little money, but I had a good time!

Week in Review
Seems like it has been a busy week of nothing! I haven't posted at all this week, so here is our week in review:
Injuries
Last Friday I slammed my hand in a door at work. It got all full of blood and I thought I might have done some serious damage. It is ok though, just really bruised. Then, on Sunday Patrick and I went hiking and I fell climbing up a hill and slid like 10 feet down on my stomach, scratching up my elbows and legs really bad. Pretty much I look like I have been hit by a truck.
Doug found a nice town house in Hendersonville, TN which is NE of Nashville. He moved in on Tuesday and seems to really like it.
Patrick had some great pictures taken for his Soldier of the Month award. They are the classic kind with him in front of the flag.
Sassy is doing fine after her surgery. She is just as energetic and naughty as ever! We love her!
Work is good- I am going to Vegas for a conference next week, so I have just been getting ready for that.
I think that's pretty much it. Hope you all had a good week too! I work all weekend, so I'm not sure if we will do anything post-worthy, but if we do, I will be sure to keep you updated!

Date night
Patrick and I went on a date last night. We went to the Cheesecake Factory for dinner then to see Ocean's 13. I thought it was really funny- Patrick fell asleep (more from exhaustion than boredom though). As most movie sequels and threequels (is that a word?) go it was better than the second, but will never beat the first. I would recommend it though because it is entertaining- I even paid attention to the whole thing, and that's saying a lot!
So so very proud
Patrick was chosen as Soldier of the Month for his squadron. He had to go in front of a board of officers and answer questions about the army and his service. He was chosen out of many other soldiers and now he will go on to the promotion board next month. He didn't want me to put this on, but I am so proud that I couldn't resist! He is so great!

Tennessee Doug
Well our plan is starting to fall in place. It won't be long now before we convince all of you to move to Tennessee! Doug decided that he would like to be a little closer to us, so he arrived here last week to begin looking for a home. He is staying with us right now, but is going to be moving to an area a little north of Nashville very soon. We are glad to have him here!

Back for more!
We went back for another day of kayaking today- we can't get enough! We had so much fun last time that we wanted to try it out again today. We are thinking of buying our own so we can go wherever we want, because even though we have only gone twice, we feel we are already ready for some white water! The water was calm, the day sunny- we couldn't have asked for a better day, except that Sassy had to stay at home because of her recent surgery. We missed her.
